Learning doesn’t have to stop when students walk out of the classroom! YMCA Camp Carter Outdoor Education gives students the opportunity to explore nature, discover new skills, and experience hands-on learning in the great outdoors. Through engaging activities such as archery, canoeing, fossil exploration, outdoor survival, team building, and more, students turn classroom concepts into real-world experiences they can see, touch, and remember.
Our Outdoor Education programs are designed to support Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), helping students make meaningful connections between their Camp Carter experience and what they are learning in school. It’s more than a field trip—it’s an adventure that inspires curiosity, builds confidence, strengthens teamwork, and creates learning experiences students won’t forget!
