Campers get a head start on simple robotics using LEGO® WeDo™ components and easy to use software. Our young creators will build models, attach sensors, and motors that are plugged into a computer, and configure behaviors using a simple programming tool. Counselors guide campers through their first 12 robot models, which include a variety of animals, amazing mechanisms, and adventure stories.

Falling Creek’s June Camp session is 20 days and provides a great opportunity for first-time campers in 1st-9th grade who are excited about all that camp has to offer. The June Camp session offers a wide variety of activities and allows boys an opportunity to build self-confidence as they improve their skills and enhance their friendships. Campers live in cabin groups of eight and choose their six favorite activities to make up their daily schedule, as well as outdoor trips off-property.

Campers will be using an amazing software program from MIT called “Scratch.” The program was designed for children, and teaches them the basics of programing as they create animated stories, video games, and interactive artwork. Using colorful programming blocks, campers drag and “snap” together the blocks to make a character (Sprite) walk, speak, play music, or interact with other sprites.

Learn basic acting skills and techniques for comedic performance, focusing on characterization, voice, and physicality. Examine various comedic scenes from plays. Explore the world of sketch comedy. Campers get a head start on simple robotics using LEGO® WeDo™ components and easy to use software. Our young creators will build models, attach sensors, and motors that are plugged into a computer, and configure behaviors using a simple programming tool. Counselors guide campers through their first 12 robot models, which include a variety of animals, amazing mechanisms, and adventure stories.

Campers will be divided into groups of eight to ensure quality instruction and each camper will be provided with a free t-shirt.
