NTPA Repertory Theatre will open its 2023-2024 season with Young Frankenstein directed by Lizz Bashore October 6-15, 2023. The show will run for two weeks at the Rodenbaugh Theatre in Willow Bend Center of the Arts (6121 W. Park Blvd. B216, Plano, TX 75093).
Young Frankenstein is just what the doctor ordered this Halloween season! In this hilarious comedy, Frederick Frankenstein inherits his family's estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick, Igor, and a leggy lab assistant, Inga, Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors. Eventually, of course, young Frankenstein’s monster escapes and hilarity ensues.
The production is directed by NTPA Repertory Artistic Director, Lizz Bashore. Music Direction by William “Billy” Veer and Choreography by Allison Larrea and Sam Howard.
“Mel Brooks’ film Young Frankenstein is iconic,” says Bashore. “It is named one of the funniest films of all time by the American Film Institute. The musical does a great job of capturing the hilarious moments from the film and then adds even more laughs with its irreverent songs. We are cracking up during our rehearsals – you don’t want to miss this show!”
