Aviation Discovery Fest is designed for families, students, aviation enthusiasts and anyone interested in military history, science, technology and flight. The two-day festival gives visitors a rare opportunity to get up close to historic military aircraft, meet the pilots and volunteers who keep them flying, and experience aviation history through hands-on exhibits and interactive activities.
Aviation Discovery Fest introduces young people to careers in aviation, aerospace, engineering, aircraft maintenance and related STEM fields. The event’s Aviation Discovery Zone provides interactive educational exhibits and hands-on STEM activities that connect classroom learning with real-world aviation experiences.
Unlike a traditional museum experience, Aviation Discovery Fest allows visitors to interact directly with historic aircraft and the people who preserve them. More than 20 historic bombers, fighters, transport and training aircraft will be featured at Aviation Discovery Fest, including:
- B-29 Superfortress “FIFI”: One of only two flying B-29s in the world.
- P-51 Mustang: Regarded as one of the greatest fighter aircraft ever built.
- C-47 Skytrain “That’s All, Brother”: Led the main airborne invasion during D-Day.
- B-24 Liberator “Diamond Lil”: The world’s only regularly flying B-24 bomber.
