Wylie 500 Pedal Car Race

Kids age 2 - 5 choose pedal car provided by local merchants and race 500 inches in heats of six. Trophies awarded in two age brackets.

Children age 2 - 5 are gearing up for the 15th annual Wylie 500 Pedal Car Race in historic downtown Wylie. Ballard Avenue will be closed and the track set on Sunday, May 5. Registration begins at 1 p.m.; race time is scheduled for 2 p.m. More than 200 kids will select a car provided and decorated by local merchants and race 500 inches down Ballard in heats of six. Winners will receive trophies in two age brackets. The $10 (cash or check) entry fee includes a T-shirt, and proceeds benefit area Special Olympics and downtown Wylie beautification. Free to be a spectator at the event.
