Hands on History:  Dirty Jobs

Monday, June 28  from 9 am to 4 pm

Ages 6 – 12
$50 per person; pre-registration is required.

Step back in time and try your hand at some of the dirty jobs that kept our town alive and kicking. Fire up the forge and grab a hammer to see if you have what it takes to conquer the frontier. We’re laying the tracks of Farmers Branch history and it’s time to grab your work gloves and help out! 

Camp activities include blacksmithing, calf roping with saw-horse bulls, exploring railroad track construction, making hand-cranked ice cream, and so much more.  

Camp will begin outdoors and rotate between structures during the afternoon. Contactless drop off and pick-up with temperature checks will take place in the Historical Park parking lot. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed during the entire camp.  Please bring a sack lunch, water bottle, face mask, sunscreen, and hand sanitizer to camp.

Girls Make History Camp 

Monday - Friday, July 12 - 16 from 9 am to 4 pm 

Ages 6 - 12
Fee:  $200 includes all materials; space is limited and pre-registration is required.
Camp instructors: Bonnie Neumann- Historical Cultural Specialist and our Museum Educator. Crafts and sewing with Paloma (DISD Art Teacher) during the afternoon.

Join the Historical Park on an adventure to meet girls from the past who have shaped America! Experience the life of girls from Tejas and the American Frontier through the Civil War and the Victorian era. This award winning camp will explore the impact girls have made throughout American history!

Camp will begin outdoors and rotate between structures during the afternoon.  Contactless drop off and pick-up with temperature checks will take place each day of camp in the Historical Park parking lot. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed during the entire camp.  Snack provided daily. Please bring a sack lunch, water bottle, face mask, sunscreen, and hand sanitizer to camp each day.

Artchella is going to space! Artchella is a weeklong day camp experience with a lifelong impact, launching kids into a galaxy of fun and learning. This camp offers a week full of hands-on science, drawing, painting, and sewing activities for creative kids ages 5-12. The programs centers on activities that encourage creativity and collaboration thru project-based learning, challenges, team building, outdoor games, and more. We can't wait to meet the mARTian in you!
