The 2025–2026 robotics season is one of Magikid Highland Park's strongest yet. Our teams earned:
* 4 Teamwork Champion Awards
* 2 Excellence Awards
* 1 Skills Champion
* 1 Innovate Award
* 1 Amaze Award
The season is still underway, with teams qualified for State in Feb and advancing to the World Championship in May.
But the real win is more than the trophies. It’s the growth behind — from engineering and coding knowledge to real-world application, from strategic thinking to teamwork and leadership.
The next season starts soon. Who’s ready to step up?
If your child wants to push beyond their comfort zone and turn passion into performance, let’s talk about placement for 2026–2027.

FAQ
WHAT IS VEX ROBOTICS COMPETITION?
VRC, the VEX Robotics Competition, is the largest global robotics competition, while VEX IQ is the program within this series designed for students in grades 4-9. The competition aims to promote educational robotics by integrating various disciplines such as applied physics, mathematics, programming, digital prototyping, and engineering design. It seeks to expand young students' interests in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), unlocking their learning potential, enhancing teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills, and ultimately helping them discover their value.
Participants in the competition are required to have a fundamental understanding of robotics. They will work with their teams to develop solutions based on each season's theme. They compete in various categories, including teamwork, robot driving, and programming. Additionally, they undergo live interview assessments by judges who evaluate their overall performance and determine the winners across different categories. Teams that win at the regional level can qualify for state-level competitions and win there to be eligible for the World Championship. Currently, there are approximately 20,000 teams globally preparing for the competition. In 2023, around 800 teams of elementary and middle school students worldwide are projected to qualify for the World Championship.
WHAT MAKES MAGIKID HIGHLAND PARK SPECIAL?
Magikid is THE leader in VEX Competition training and is known for its comprehensive training methodologies. In 2024-2025, Magikid Highland Park team won the Excellence Award, the top honors at VEX IQ Robotics US. Open and placed top 15 in the World Championship. The 2025–2026 robotics season is one of our strongest yet. The season is still underway, with teams already qualified for State and advancing to the World Championship in May. Our teams already earned:
- 4 Teamwork Champion Awards
- 2 Excellence Awards

TRAINING FRAMEWORK:
Our VEX competition training program guides students from foundational learners to confident, competition-ready performers.
- Build Strong Technical Foundations: Students strengthen engineering and coding skills through hands-on construction, drivetrain tuning, transmission systems, sensor integration, and autonomous programming.
- Master the Engineering Design Process: Teams analyze the game, set strategic goals, design and prototype mechanisms, program and test solutions, collect data, and refine through structured iteration. Training emphasizes structural optimization, mechanical efficiency, automation systems, and match strategy.
- Develop Competitive & Leadership Skills: Beyond technical growth, students participate in scrimmages, strategy drills, alliance communication practice, engineering notebook development, and mock judging interviews. They build project management skills such as task delegation, time management, troubleshooting, and post-match reflection.
- Students learn to build with purpose, think strategically, communicate clearly, and perform under pressure — striving not just to compete, but to excel.
