Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum Online Family Program: Songwriting 101: Mickey Guyton Style

Participants will learn the fundamentals of songwriting, including form, theme and rhyme scheme. Students will share ideas and write an original song with a professional musician, inspired by country musician Mickey Guyton’s "Sister," about the importance of relying on those we hold dear in times of struggle.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of songwriting, including form, theme and rhyme scheme. Students will share ideas and write an original song with music professional Kayley Nell Walker, inspired by country musician Mickey Guyton’s "Sister," about the importance of relying on those we hold dear in times of struggle. Guyton is featured in the exhibition, American Currents: State of the Music

Recommended for ages seven and up, but all are welcome. A guardian or adult is required to be present for children under thirteen. Takes place via Zoom. Space is limited. Registration required by 5:00 p.m. the day before the program. Free.
