Annual Kid's Trout Derby

Cast a line and catch some trout with our Rangers!
Partake in a friendly competition while we celebrate Ray Roberts Lake State Park - Johnson Branch's 30th Anniversary.
Competition for prizes are for 16 years and younger! There will be tables and booths set up around the pond and drinks (hot cocoa, hot coffee, and water) provided by the park
*Kid Fishpond will be closed for fishing prior to event for preparations*

What to Bring: Water, Sunscreen, Closed-Toed Shoes, Weather Appropriate Clothes, Fishing Equipment (Loaner Tackle Will Be Limited)
Who: Competition for fun prizes are for 16 years and younger, but all ages welcome.
Every hour we will have prizes for "Biggest Fish Caught" and "Most Fish Caught." We will also have grand prizes for the day for "Biggest Fish Caught" and "Most Fish Caught".
This program is included in park entry fees.
Programs are subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather. Cancellations will be announced on this website, or you can call park headquarters.
