Greek Mythology Ensemble

Our Mythology Ensemble takes on the world’s greatest myths in this two week sleepaway camp for the young actor.  Mythology campers receive expert training in acting, movement and stage combat to help them tell ancient stories. Complete with fun-filled rehearsals and daily classes, the Mythology Ensemble is the perfect introduction to Traveling Players.  Our “Mythsters” are carefully guided by a trio of directors, who bring out the best in every performer.

Program Dates

  • Session 1: June 25 — July 7   (2 weeks) – Only 1 Spot Left!
  • Session 2: July 16 —  July 28   (2 weeks) Only 4 Spots Left!

By focusing on classical theatre, Traveling Players trains performers who are bold, resourceful, and skilled. Classical acting technique is demanding — and remains foundational and relevant to the modern performing arts landscape. Hence, a summer at Traveling Players trains you to act not just anything, but anywhere. All the world’s a stage!

Traveling Players summer programs offer expert training in acting, character creation, physical comedy, stage combat, improvisation, and text analysis. A typical day includes intensive rehearsals in addition to classes taught by expert faculty, expanding each performer’s skill set.

Camp Location

Freedom Center, Leesburg VA (1 hour from DC)

Our sleep-away camps & residential conservatories are nestled in the foothills of Leesburg, VA. Actors (grades 4-12) rehearse a play in small, supportive peer groups of only 13 performers. Led by a trio of directors (faculty to student ratio -- 1:4), they receive expert personalized acting training in ensemble-based theatre, text analysis, and stage combat. Each session culminates in at least one professionally staged and designed public performance with plays by Shakespeare, Moliere, and based on Greek Mythology.

Traveling Players emphasizes a meaningful engagement with nature. Our residential programs include a weekly campout – when performers learn Leave No Trace camping techniques, to pitch tents, and cook outdoors. As artists and backpackers, students learn self-reliance and creative problem-solving, and gain an appreciation of challenges and beauty -- while making lifelong friendships.
