Heritage Farmstead Museum Summer Camp

*The event has already taken place on this date: Fri, 08/06/2021
Summer Camp at the Heritage Farmstead Museum is BACK! Open to children ages 5 to 13, our week-long camps offer outdoor activities with a focus on history and farm life in the heart of Plano. We will be offering a total of nine sessions, starting June 7 and ending on August 6. Camp runs 9am to 1pm Monday through Friday and is $225 per camper. T-shirt is included.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Campers will be grouped based on age (friend requests accepted), to form small groups who will work together throughout the week.  In addition, we have added some exciting new camp themes, thoughtfully designed to educate and inspire children, as well as build confidence, emphasize teamwork and maximize fun!  Campers will experience all the best as a camper at the Heritage Farmstead Museum–exploring agricultural history, enjoying nature and creek life on our 4.5 acre historical site.

COVID Protocols

  • In order to comply with the highest standards for public health and safety, we will not be offering after care this year.  Campers may be dropped off to begin their day with us after 8:30am and must be picked up no later than 1:15pm (camp officially ends each day at 1pm).
  • Campers are required to wear masks or face coverings.  Gaiters and bandanas are acceptable.  Exceptions will be made for those with medical conditions.  Campers will not be permitted to attend camp if they refuse to wear a mask.
  • Daily temperature checks upon arrival.  Campers with a temperature of 100.4 degrees F or higher will not be permitted to attend camp.
  • Parents will receive a Health Screening Form in your pre-camp information email.  This form must be turned in at the start of camp.  If you answer ‘yes’ to two or more questions, your camper will not be permitted to attend camp.  You must fill out a screening form for each child attending camp.
  • Camps will have small group sizes.  Groups will be distanced from one another as much as possible.
  • We have enhanced cleaning and disinfecting at each camp site.
  • There will be frequent handwashing with soap and water, or use of hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available.
  • We have modified activities and crafts to minimize sharing supplies.
  • Museum and camp staff and volunteers will wear face masks and complete daily health screenings.
  • If your camper is feeling sick in the morning, please refrain from sending them to camp.  If they develop symptoms during the day while at camp, they will be isolated and you will be notified.
  • Any changes to the policies and procedures will be communicated to you as needed.  You may also check our website for the most updated information.
